The flow-through design allows water to pass through the ball while trapping dirt and debris which helps prevent foaming and the unsightly scum line. It will also increase your hot tub filter's life and efficiency.
Just place the spa ball in your hot tub. The more dirt it absorbs, the heavier it gets and will eventually sink. When it's really dirty, simply replace with a new one.
