Most hot tub water problems can be diagnosed quickly with a simple test strip that is dipped into the water. The following trouble shooting guide will help you determine the cause of the more common hot tub water problems you will encounter, and offers recommended solutions.

| Cloudy water | Dirty Filter | Remove filter and clean with filter cleaner |
| High TDS levels | Drain, clean and refill hot tub with fresh water | |
| High pH or alkalinity | Test with test strips and add pH/Alkalinity Decreaser | |
| High calcium count | Test with test strips, drain and refill with fresh water | |
| Dissolved solids | Add clarifier product to your water | |
| High bacteria level | Shock Spa Water. Maintain proper sanitizer levels | |

| Brown water | High mineral count | Add Stain & Scale to spa water |
